Course Description
This eight-week course prepares an IAPST Certified Psychosexual Therapist to register and practice as an IAPST Registered Supervisor. It is built on the IAPST Standards of Supervision, which the course covers in full, section by section, together with the IAPST Supervisor's Handbook and the Association's review forms.
Being a good therapist and being a good supervisor are different skills. This course teaches the second, and it teaches it from the standard a Registered Supervisor is held to. Across the eight modules, the learner carries a single clinician in training through a complete supervision pathway, running her log, reviewing her recorded work, rating her written work against the fifteen required topics, filing her Supervision Agreement, and writing her 150-Hour Review. Live sessions combine instruction with breakout analysis and supervised role play.
A learner who completes this course has read the Standards of Supervision section by section with a comprehension check on each, re-read it whole, been examined on it, and produced every document the role requires. The purpose is that their first clinician in training loses nothing to a mistake the supervisor did not know they were making.
Class Schedule
Every live session runs on a Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST. All dates below are 2027. The eighth module holds the final examination and the Capstone, and there is no class on March 4.
Modules open on Sunday and close the following Saturday at 11:59 p.m. EST. Reading and the weekly Module Check are due before class on Thursday. Written work is due on Saturday.
