Nondiscrimination Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

The School of Sex Therapy (“the School”) is committed to a learning and working environment free from discrimination and harassment. This policy applies to applicants, students, faculty, staff, and visitors in connection with School programs, activities, and services.

Policy statement

The School does not discriminate on the basis of any protected characteristic in admissions, enrollment, academic programs, student services, employment, or access to School-sponsored activities.

Decisions about applications, instruction, evaluation, and employment are based on relevant qualifications, academic standards, and professional requirements—not on personal characteristics unrelated to those criteria.

Scope

This policy covers:

  • Program admissions and application review
  • Enrollment, coursework, assessment, and academic records
  • On-demand courses, live sessions, and other educational offerings
  • Faculty and staff hiring, supervision, and workplace conduct
  • School communications, events, and online learning environments

It applies to conduct that occurs in School programs and activities, including online platforms used for instruction and administration, and to off-platform conduct that reasonably affects the School learning or working environment.

Protected characteristics

The School prohibits discrimination and harassment based on, including without limitation:

  • Race, color, ethnicity, or national origin
  • Sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression
  • Pregnancy or related conditions
  • Age
  • Religion or creed
  • Disability
  • Veteran or military status
  • Marital or familial status
  • Any other status protected by applicable law

Reasonable accommodations are provided for qualified individuals with disabilities and for sincerely held religious beliefs, consistent with academic standards and applicable law.

Harassment and unwelcome conduct

Harassment is unwelcome conduct based on a protected characteristic that is sufficiently serious to deny or limit a person's ability to participate in or benefit from a School program, or that creates a hostile learning or working environment.

Academic discussion of human sexuality, clinical case material, and related professional topics is part of the School's educational mission. Instructional content presented in good faith for educational purposes is not, by itself, harassment. Conduct that targets a person for abuse, humiliation, or exclusion because of a protected characteristic is prohibited.

Reporting a concern

Anyone who experiences or witnesses discrimination or harassment in connection with a School program or activity is encouraged to report it promptly. Reports may be made by applicants, students, faculty, staff, or visitors.

Please include relevant dates, a description of what occurred, and any supporting information you are able to share. The School will review reports in a timely manner, take appropriate action, and keep information as confidential as reasonably possible while conducting a fair review.

If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then notify the School when it is safe to do so.

Non-retaliation

The School prohibits retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, reports a concern, participates in a review, or opposes conduct they reasonably believe violates this policy. Retaliation is a separate violation and may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from a program or termination of employment.

Academic standards

This policy does not require the School to lower academic or professional standards, admit or retain a student who does not meet program requirements, or continue an employment relationship when performance or conduct does not meet institutional expectations.

Changes to this policy

The School may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
