About The School of Sex Therapy

The School of Sex Therapy is a global research institute dedicated exclusively to the advancement of psychosexual therapy.

Founded in 2022 as a nonprofit educational institution, the School was created to establish a new standard for training, research, and clinical excellence in a field that has long lacked formalized and academically rigorous pathways. Today, it stands as the only fully accredited institute of higher education devoted entirely to psychosexual therapy.

At the center of our academic offerings is the first and only accredited Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Psychosexual Therapy. This advanced research degree is designed to develop clinician scholars who will shape the future of the field through original research, clinical innovation, and international leadership. Complementing this is our Certificate in Sex Therapy, which provides the academic and clinical foundation for professionals pursuing certification as Certified Psychosexual Therapist (C-PST) through the International Association of Psychosexual Therapists (IAPST).

Our work is defined by a commitment to rigor, relevance, and global reach. We train clinicians not only to understand psychosexual therapy, but to practice it with precision, ethical clarity, and cultural competence. Through ongoing research initiatives, publications, and international collaboration, the School actively contributes to the development of the field’s theoretical and clinical foundations.

Our learning model combines live, interactive instruction with structured independent study, allowing us to maintain academic excellence while serving a diverse, international community of learners.

Through the Center for Continuing Education, professionals remain engaged beyond initial training by deepening expertise, meeting licensure and certification requirements, and remaining at the forefront of developments in psychosexual therapy.

This is more than education.

This is Sex Therapy Training. Redefined.

Sex Therapy Defined

Sex Therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy that focuses on addressing a wide range of issues related to sex, sexuality, and gender for individuals and couples. It encompasses the exploration of psychological, relational, and emotional factors that underlie various sexual dysfunctions, including but not limited to erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation in men.

In the case of women, it covers Genito-pelvic pain/penetration disorder, female sexual desire/arousal disorder, and orgasmic disorder, as classified in the DSM-5. Additionally, sex therapy is effective in assisting individuals dealing with compulsive and unmanageable sexual behaviors. It also serves as a valuable modality for helping couples foster romantic connection and intimacy. Moreover, sex therapy offers support for individuals grappling with challenges related to sexual orientation and gender-related issues.
